Pipe damage in Pankow - Local transport disrupted - Berlin's burst water main shuts down roads and halts Flixbus routes

A burst water main in Berlin's Pankow district has disrupted transport and damaged roads. The incident was reported early on Sunday morning near Greifswalder Straße. Several tram and bus services, including Flixbus routes, have been halted as a result.

The break occurred at the intersection of Greifswalder Straße and Straße am Friedrichshain. The force of the leak undermined parts of the road, forcing a full closure in the area. Repair teams from Berliner Wasserbetriebe are now on site to fix the damaged pipe.

Public transport has faced delays due to the flooding. The M4 tram line, along with bus routes 142 and 200, have been affected. Authorities have not yet confirmed how long the disruptions will last.

The road remains closed while crews carry out repairs. Commuters are advised to check for updates on alternative routes. The extent of the damage and the timeline for full restoration are still under assessment.
