Bhiwandi's ₹14-crore modern bus terminus to transform urban transport

Bhiwandi is set to get a modern bus terminus worth ₹14 crore. The project aims to upgrade the city’s transport infrastructure with improved passenger facilities. Local officials have welcomed the initiative as a key step for urban growth. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has started work on the new terminus. It will include spacious waiting areas, modern amenities, and better traffic systems. The Office of the Executive Engineer, Mumbai Regional Division, MSRTC, issued the tender for the project.

To avoid service disruptions, MSRTC has also planned a temporary bus station. An e-tender worth ₹72.84 lakh has been floated for its development. The temporary facility will open before construction on the main terminus begins, ensuring continuous ST bus operations.

Bhiwandi West MLA Mahesh Choughule has pushed for the modernisation of the city’s bus infrastructure. He expressed gratitude to the State Government, Transport Department, and MSRTC officials for their support in advancing the project. The new terminus is expected to improve commuter convenience and support Bhiwandi’s development. The temporary station will maintain services during construction. The project marks a significant upgrade for the city’s transport network.
