Bird Fest 2023: A free day of nature, wildlife, and family fun in Burien

The Environmental Science Center's annual 'Bird Fest' will take place on Saturday, 14 February 2023. The free event invites people of all ages to explore nature and learn about local wildlife. Organisers promise a day full of activities, from guided walks to live bird displays.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burien Community Center. Visitors can join bird walks, watch presentations, and meet live raptors up close. Family-friendly nature walks, crafts, and hands-on my activity will also be on offer.

Local groups like Forterra, Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, and the Burien/White Center Watershed Stewards will host information booths. A door prize raffle adds to the fun, while community organisations share ways to support watershed health. Some activities allow advanced registration through eventbrite or ticketmaster, though most require no sign-up.

The City of Burien sponsors the event, which aims to promote native bird habitats and environmental conservation. Questions or requests for accommodations can be sent to ESC's Community Engagement Director at [email protected]. More details are available at https://bit.ly/3MlgDHA.

Bird Fest brings together nature lovers, families, and environmental groups for a day of learning and outdoor fun. The event's mix of education and hands-on experiences highlights the importance of protecting local ecosystems. All activities remain free and open to the public.
