Bitget secures landmark crypto registrations in Mexico's evolving market
Bitget has completed key regulatory registrations in Mexico, becoming one of the first global crypto platforms to do so under the country’s current framework. The move strengthens the company’s position in a market it describes as one of its most important in Latin America. The crypto exchange secured two major approvals: registration with Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) and vulnerable activity registration with the Tax Administration Service (SAT). These steps align with Mexico’s evolving digital asset regulations, which now include stricter anti-money laundering rules for crypto-related activities.
Gracy Chen, Bitget’s Chief Executive Officer, stated that the registrations demonstrate the company’s commitment to compliance and sustainable growth in international markets. The approvals also enhance Bitget’s ability to serve local users while expanding its partnerships with banks and financial institutions across Mexico.
Mexico has become a significant growth market for digital asset firms. Bitget’s regulatory progress not only solidifies its presence there but also supports broader ambitions in Latin America. With its new registrations, Bitget can now operate more effectively in Mexico and pursue further expansion in the region. The company’s compliance efforts come as the country tightens oversight of virtual assets, ensuring a more structured environment for crypto businesses.
