Bittensor's AI network booms as TAO token soars and subnets hit $1.5B valuation

Bittensor's decentralised AI network has seen rapid growth in recent months. The platform's native token, TAO, surged by nearly 90% in March, climbing from around $180 to over $332. Meanwhile, the combined value of its subnet tokens has approached $1.5 billion, reflecting expanding real-world applications. The rise in Bittensor's ecosystem stems from its diverse subnets, each tackling different AI and blockchain use cases. Chutes, a leading subnet, has processed over 9.1 trillion tokens and now serves more than 400,000 users. It recently became the first Bittensor subnet to exceed a $100 million valuation.

Templar has made waves by training the largest decentralised language model to date, featuring 72 billion parameters and 1.1 trillion tokens. Another subnet, Targon, projects $10.4 million in annual revenue and has secured $10.5 million in Series A funding, supporting a platform with over 4 million users.

In the pharmaceutical sector, NOVA focuses on decentralised drug molecule discovery, targeting the $1.5 trillion global market. Hippius, another subnet, functions as a blockchain-based storage solution similar to AWS S3, generating $4.48 million in profit and loss. These developments highlight how subnets—powered by Bittensor's dTAO—are driving utility in AI training, storage, trading, and beyond. Bittensor's growth reflects broader adoption of decentralised AI tools across industries. With subnets like Chutes, Templar, and Targon expanding their user bases and revenue streams, the network's valuation continues to climb. The surge in TAO's price and subnet token values suggests increasing confidence in the platform's long-term potential.
