Brandenburg secures 8.1% wage deal to avert Easter transport strikes
A new wage deal has been struck for public transport workers in Brandenburg. The agreement covers bus and tram employees, ending recent pay disputes. Services will now run without disruption over the Easter period. Negotiations concluded with a 27-month collective bargaining agreement. Workers will receive a total pay rise of 8.1% spread over the term. This works out to an average annual increase of 3.6%.
The first pay boost of 3.2% takes effect on April 1, 2026. A further 2.5% rise follows exactly a year later. As part of the deal, employees will also get a one-time payment of €160 within the first three months.
The settlement ensures no strikes will affect buses and trams during the Easter holidays. Both sides have confirmed the terms, though the exact number of workers covered remains unspecified. The agreement brings stability to Brandenburg's public transport network. Employees gain a phased pay increase and a lump-sum payment. Passengers can now expect uninterrupted services over the coming months.
