Braunschweig's KVG alters bus routes for Lower Saxony Day 2026
Braunschweig’s public transport operator KVG has announced temporary changes to its services for Lower Saxony Day. From June 8 to 17, 2026, three key bus routes will be adjusted to accommodate event logistics. The changes come as the city prepares to host a major regional celebration. During the event, routes 601, 602, and 620 will operate with altered stops. All journeys on these lines will begin and end at the 'BS, Europaplatz' stop. The usual stops—'Am Wassertor/Fr.-Wilhelm-Platz', 'John-F.-Kennedy-Platz', 'Schloss', and 'Rathaus'—will not be served during this period.
KVG Braunschweig will also take part in a joint exhibit called Connecting the Region. The display, located on the Emergency Services and Technology Mile along Kurt-Schumacher-Straße, will feature seven other transport providers and the Greater Braunschweig Regional Authority. Visitors can explore the latest in bus and rail services, take part in interactive activities, and meet representatives from the companies involved. The temporary route changes aim to ensure smooth transport operations during Lower Saxony Day. The exhibit will run alongside the event, offering attendees a closer look at local mobility solutions. Normal service on the affected lines is expected to resume on June 18, 2026.
