Broadridge Expands Tokenization to Cover Multiple Asset Classes in One System
Broadridge Financial Solutions has expanded its tokenization capabilities to handle multiple asset classes. The move builds on its Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR), the world’s largest institutional platform for settling tokenized real assets. Firms can now manage operations across both traditional and digital markets within a single framework. In May 2023, DLR processed an average of $362 billion in daily repo transactions. The total volume reached $7.2 trillion for the month, marking a 220% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth highlights a broader trend of modernising market infrastructure through tokenized settlement.
DLR’s scalable framework helps institutions improve capital utilisation and reduce operational friction. Horacio Barakat, Global Head of Digital Innovation at Broadridge, links the rise in adoption to demand for better liquidity efficiency and collateral mobility. The expansion of DLR supports a wider range of asset classes under one system. Institutions can now streamline processes between traditional and digital markets. The platform’s growth demonstrates increasing reliance on tokenized solutions for settlement and liquidity management.
