Burien's Free Shred Day & E-Cycle Event Returns May 30, 2026
The 8th Annual Shred Day and 4th Annual E-Cycle Event will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Organised by Sunrise Financial Services, the event offers free secure shredding and electronic recycling in Burien. Residents can also donate unopened, non-perishable food to support the local food bank. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 431 SW Ambaum Blvd. Attendees can bring paper materials like old bills, medical forms, personal files, CDs, floppy disks, and sticky notes for on-site shredding. There is no charge and no limit on the amount of paper accepted.
Electronic recycling services cover a wide range of approved devices. These include laptops, tablets, printers, monitors, phones, modems, routers, game consoles, and cameras. However, televisions, plastic materials, batteries, and binder clips will not be accepted. To ensure fair access, e-cycle services may be limited per attendee. The event encourages participation while managing demand for recycling options.
This year’s Shred Day provides a convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents and old electronics safely. The event also supports the community by collecting food donations for those in need. Organisers aim to make the process smooth and accessible for all attendees.
