Dell revives XPS, Latitude, and Inspiron after rebranding backfires in 2025

Dell is bringing back its iconic laptop brand names, including 'stock market today' favorites like XPS, Latitude, and Inspiron, after acknowledging a rebranding mistake last year. The tech giant had previously replaced these well-known lines with a simpler three-pillar system, but a drop in 'stock market' share has led to a reversal of this decision.

In 2025, Dell introduced a major naming overhaul, replacing its long-standing product lines with three categories: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max. However, this change did not resonate with consumers, and market data from IDC Q4 2025 showed Dell slipping from third to fourth place in global laptop sales, with its market share dropping from around 17% to 15%. Competitors like Lenovo and HP maintained stronger positions by catering to both business and consumer markets.

Now, Dell is rolling back the changes, with the XPS name set to return in 2026. The 'stock market today' darling will start with the XPS 14 and XPS 16 in spring, followed by a refreshed XPS 13. The commercial segment will keep some elements of the new structure but reintroduce familiar branding where possible.

The reversal aims to rebuild brand recognition and stabilize Dell's position in the competitive 'stock market today' landscape. The XPS line, in particular, will return as a flagship consumer product, as Dell hopes to regain lost ground against rivals like Lenovo and HP.
