RTD rail service changes in downtown Denver begin Sunday

Denver's RTD overhauls rail and bus routes with new T Line debut

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver is rolling out major changes to its rail and bus services starting this Sunday. The updates include new routes, adjusted schedules, and temporary suspensions as part of ongoing improvements.

Funding for some of these changes comes from a $9.2 million grant aimed at boosting service reliability and connections across the network. The most notable addition is the new T Line, which will run from Lincoln Station to I-25 Broadway Station. Frequencies on this route will vary depending on the time of day.

Meanwhile, the G Line has seen its weekday and weekend service restored to every 15 minutes. The B Line will also return to a 30-minute frequency on weekdays during certain hours. For the R Line, service has been increased and extended further south, giving passengers access to more stations.

Not all changes are expansions, however. The D, H, and L lines will be temporarily suspended as part of June’s adjustments. On a positive note, the C Line has been temporarily reinstated to Denver Union Station. The E and W lines will also see schedule tweaks to improve punctuality.

Behind these adjustments is the Downtown Rail Reconstruction Project, a long-term effort set to last multiple years. The $9.2 million grant from the Clean Transit Enterprise is helping fund improvements, including better bus connections and more frequent services across the network. The changes take effect this Sunday, with some lines suspended and others expanded. Passengers on the T, G, B, and R lines will see improved frequencies, while the C Line’s return to Union Station offers more direct travel options. The long-term reconstruction project and grant funding suggest further updates in the coming years.
