Deutsche Bahn unveils Rüdesheim's modernized station by late 2026
Deutsche Bahn will build a new train station in Rüdesheim, situated right beside Hafenpark and the riverboat docks. The project marks the first completed station under the company's major renovation of the Right Rhine Corridor. Work is set to begin in early 2026, with the station opening by the end of that year under the same name: Rüdesheim Station.
Construction will start on February 9, 2026, with initial foundation work. The main platform build is planned for summer 2026. Once operational, the old station facilities will be removed, though the historic station building will stay intact for commercial use.
The new station will include two 210-metre outdoor platforms. Passengers can expect modern lighting, weather shelters, seating, and digital departure boards. The location aims to improve rail access to nearby homes and tourist spots.
This project is part of Deutsche Bahn's wider upgrade of the Right Rhine Corridor. Over 30 stations along the route will be refurbished or rebuilt, with Rüdesheim serving as the first to be completed under the scheme.
The station's opening is scheduled for late 2026, replacing the existing one while keeping its name. Travellers will benefit from better connections to local attractions and residential areas. Meanwhile, the old listed building will remain available for businesses.
