Deutsche Bahn unveils sleek new travel hub at Cologne Central Station

Deutsche Bahn has reopened its travel centre and DB Lounge at Cologne Central Station after a major renovation. The upgraded facilities are part of a nationwide modernisation plan covering 15 lounges across Germany. Cologne marks the sixth location to receive the updated design concept. The newly renovated travel centre now includes 16 service counters spread over 320 square metres. Alongside this, the DB Lounge has also reopened, offering 100 seats split between premium and comfort zones. The lounge itself spans 448 square metres.

Previously, Düsseldorf, Nuremberg, Hamburg, and two Berlin sites underwent similar upgrades. Mannheim, Dresden, and Göttingen are scheduled to follow later this year. In 2025, these lounges collectively served around 3.3 million passengers. Deutsche Bahn currently operates 13 lounges nationwide, with the Cologne location reopening in March 2026 as part of the ongoing modernisation effort.

The upgrades in Cologne reflect Deutsche Bahn's broader push to refresh its passenger services. With six locations already modernised and more planned, the rail operator continues to expand its improved lounge network. The new facilities aim to accommodate growing passenger numbers while enhancing comfort and service efficiency.
