Direct Maintenance Dublin wins American Airlines' wide-body fleet contract
Direct Maintenance Dublin has secured a major line maintenance contract with American Airlines. The agreement covers full technical handling for Boeing 777 and 787 operations at Dublin Airport. The company views this partnership as a key milestone in its expansion. Under the new deal, Direct Maintenance will provide technical support for American Airlines' wide-body fleet at Dublin Airport. This includes servicing Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft, along with ETOPS (Extended Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards) assistance. The airline currently operates 197 wide-body Boeing jets, comprising 127 Boeing 777s and 70 Boeing 787s.
To meet the contract's demands, the Dublin team will expand its workforce. The station will also move to a larger facility, offering more storage and office space. This upgrade ensures the team can handle up to five daily wide-body flights during peak summer season, compared to one or two in winter.
James Dyer, Station Manager at Direct Maintenance Dublin, called the agreement a strategic addition to their client list. The company emphasised that supporting American Airlines' rigorous schedule requires both technical skill and operational flexibility. The contract marks a significant step for Direct Maintenance Dublin, reinforcing its position in the aviation maintenance sector. With an expanded team and upgraded facilities, the company is now equipped to handle increased operations at Dublin Airport. The partnership begins as American Airlines continues its daily flights to the city.
