Dromersheimer Chaussee reopens after months of major bridge repairs

L 414 (Dromersheimer Chaussee) to Reopen Saturday After Major Bridge Repairs

The L 414, also known as the Dromersheimer Chaussee, will reopen to traffic this Saturday (March 28), according to an announcement by the Worms Mobility Authority (Landesbetrieb Mobilität Worms).

The road between the Bingen-Büdesheim roundabout and the "Eiswein" roundabout near Kutschereck has been closed since late June 2025. The prolonged closure was necessary for a comprehensive overhaul of a 1977 bridge spanning a three-track railway line and two farm access roads.

The renovation included replacing the bridge's drainage system, waterproofing the road surface, and upgrading railings and safety barriers. Additionally, a new 1.75-meter-wide pedestrian and bicycle path was added on the north side of the structure.

Work was originally slated for completion by the end of 2025, but delays occurred due to weather-sensitive sealing and asphalt operations that could not proceed as planned. The total cost of the refurbishment amounts to €1.23 million.
