ESWE Verkehr hits record passenger growth in 2025 with 59.1 million riders

ESWE Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH has reported a rise in passenger numbers for 2025. The company carried around 59.1 million travellers, up from roughly 58.5 million the previous year. Managing Director Marion Hebding praised staff efforts and the company’s direction as key factors in this growth. The Nerobergbahn, a popular route, saw over 315,000 passengers in 2025—a new record. This surge contributed to the overall increase in ridership across the network.

In total, ESWE Verkehr logged about 12.8 million kilometres in revenue service last year. Subscriptions also played a role, with roughly 66,000 active passes, including Deutschland-Tickets, job tickets, and student travel cards. Hebding highlighted employee commitment as a driving force behind the positive results. The company’s focus on reliability and customer service helped maintain steady growth in passenger numbers.

The 2025 figures mark a continued upward trend for ESWE Verkehr. With higher ridership and record numbers on key routes, the company’s services remain in strong demand. The growth reflects both operational success and the popularity of subscription-based travel options.
