Public Transport in Brandenburg Not on Strike on Thursday - Germany's transport strikes spare Brandenburg but disrupt eight states
Public transport workers in Germany were set to stage warning strikes on Thursday. The Verdi union had planned walkouts across several states but later excluded Brandenburg. Services there will now run as usual.
Eight federal states were initially expected to face disruptions: Bayern, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Hamburg, Hessen, Bremen, Saarland, and Brandenburg. However, Brandenburg was later removed from the list. The state's buses, trams, and trains will operate normally.
Verdi called the strikes after rejecting the latest wage offer from employers. Despite this, the union chose not to proceed in Brandenburg, citing concerns for passengers. The next round of negotiations is set for March 27.
The decision means Brandenburg's commuters will avoid delays on Thursday. Elsewhere, the strikes may still cause travel problems. Further talks between Verdi and employers will take place later this month.
