Gütersloh's industrial park braces for major road upgrades starting February 24

Major roadworks on Nikolaus-Otto-Straße in Gütersloh's industrial park will begin on Tuesday, February 24. The project will upgrade the road and improve the local supply network. Authorities have asked residents and businesses to prepare for temporary disruptions during the construction period.

The first phase will focus on the stretch between Hansmertenweg and Osnabrücker Landstraße, near number 202. Workers will widen the road and carry out essential upgrades to the underground utility network. The city has stressed that all nearby properties and businesses will stay accessible throughout the project.

To reduce inconvenience, the work will proceed in stages. While some delays are expected, the phased approach aims to keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible. The entire project is set to finish by October.

This marks the first significant construction on the road in at least five years. No other major traffic or infrastructure projects have taken place in the Gütersloher Industriegebiet since 2021.

The roadworks will bring long-term improvements to the area's transport and utility infrastructure. Residents and commuters should expect minor delays until the project's completion in autumn. The city has urged patience and cooperation as the upgrades progress.
