Halle's New TINA Trams Spark Noise Complaints During Trial Runs
A new citizens' initiative called "TINA—Not Like This" has recently formed in Halle (Saale). The group is raising concerns over noise and vibrations caused by the city's new TINA trams.
The Hallesche Verkehrs AG (HAVAG), Halle's public transport operator, confirmed it is in contact with the initiative. "The reported issues—such as vibrations and noise—are generally understandable," a spokesperson said. However, the trams are still in a trial phase, making it difficult to assess whether complaints will persist in certain areas once full service begins.
According to HAVAG, manufacturer Stadler is currently working on technical improvements for the TINA trams across all affected cities, including Halle (Saale), Darmstadt, and Basel. "The goal is to further reduce any disruptions caused by vibrations," the company stated.
