Honolulu expands transit for UH-Manoa's graduation weekend crowds

TheBus and Skyline are adding extra weekend services to help with University of Hawaii at Manoa’s graduation ceremonies. The U Line, which normally doesn’t run on Saturdays, will operate special trips to and from the campus. Graduation attendees will have more travel options throughout the day. The U Line will start early with eastbound trips from Ahua Lagoon Drive Skyline Station to UH-Manoa at 7:54 a.m. Westbound services from Dole Street at UH-Manoa to Ahua Lagoon Drive Station will then begin at 9:35 a.m. Trains on the Skyline route will arrive at each station every 10 minutes.

Other bus routes will also serve the university. Riders can use the A Line, as well as routes 1, 1L, 4, 6, and 13 to reach the graduation events. Park-and-ride facilities will be available at Keoneae UH West Oahu Station, Honouliuli Hoopili Station, and Halawa Aloha Stadium Station.

The Department of Transportation Services (DTS) advises passengers to check the Transit App for real-time updates. Regular fares will apply for both Skyline and TheBus services during the event. The extra U Line trips aim to ease travel for graduation attendees on Saturday. With frequent trains and multiple bus options, visitors have several ways to reach the ceremonies. DTS encourages riders to prepare their journeys in advance.
