Japan Airlines and Cargolux Launch Strategic Cargo Partnership in April
Japan Airlines (JAL) and Cargolux have announced a new cargo partnership set to begin on April 1. The agreement will cover two key routes, expanding freight options between Asia, Europe, and North America. The first route connects Narita to Luxembourg and back, operating twice weekly in each direction. Cargolux will fly Boeing 747-8F freighters on this service, while JAL will market the available space under a codeshare arrangement.
The second route links Narita to Chicago and returns, also running twice weekly. Here, JAL will provide its own Boeing 747-400F capacity through an interline agreement with Cargolux. Both airlines will coordinate schedules to ensure smooth transfers for cargo shipments. The partnership aims to strengthen connections between major trade hubs in Japan, the US, and Europe.
The new services will launch on April 1, offering businesses more options for air freight between key markets. Flights on both routes will operate twice a week, increasing capacity for goods moving across continents. The collaboration marks a step toward deeper cooperation between the two carriers in global cargo logistics.
