Kazakhstan cracks down on train service violations after surprise inspections

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has carried out inspections on several passenger train routes. Officials checked technical conditions, sanitary standards, and services for passengers with limited mobility. Some violations were found during the process. Inspections took place on four key routes: Astana–Uralsk, Astana–Arkalyk, Kostanay–Almaty, and Kyzylorda–Kokshetau. Experts examined the condition of carriages, cleanliness, accessibility features, and CCTV systems. They also reviewed how well operators met passenger service standards.

Reports were prepared, and formal orders were issued where shortcomings were identified. Carriers received instructions to fix the problems found. The ministry will continue conducting regular checks to ensure compliance.

Passengers can now report issues directly through the Situation Center. Complaints can be submitted via messaging apps to +7 700 098 35 35. The inspections revealed gaps in equipment maintenance and service quality. Carriers must now address these issues to meet regulatory requirements. The ministry will monitor progress through ongoing checks and passenger feedback.
