Kazakhstan's transport network becomes more inclusive by 2030

Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev announced at a government meeting on inclusive policy implementation that by 2030, every train will include at least one specialized carriage, Liter.kz reports.

He noted that under the Inclusive Policy Concept, a comprehensive set of measures is being carried out to ensure transport accessibility across three key areas: infrastructure, transport, and service provision. Around 90% of railway carriages are already equipped with lifts and adapted compartments.

"By 2030, every train will have at least one specialized carriage. As part of a major program to renovate railway stations, essential accessibility features—such as ramps, elevators, lifting devices, and upgraded ticket offices and restrooms—are being installed," the government press service stated.

In aviation, airport accessibility is improving, with basic facilities now in place to serve passengers with special needs. The automotive sector is also seeing a phased increase in inclusivity.

Approximately 80% of bus terminals and stations meet accessibility standards, along with 79% of urban buses. The accessible taxi system continues to expand, with the fleet growing by 30% to reach 1,426 vehicles.
