Khabarovsk's Aerdromnaya Street to Close for Two Months Over Pipeline Work
Aerdromnaya Street in Khabarovsk will be closed to traffic for over two months due to pipeline construction. The work is part of a larger project to build an intersettlement gas pipeline from the Gorky-2 Gas Distribution Station to the new Khabarovsk CHPP-4. The closure was initially scheduled for May 20 but has now been postponed. Aerdromnaya Street will instead remain closed from June 10 to August 27. The pipeline route covers a distance of 14 kilometres.
Public transport will be rerouted along Promyvchnaya Street during the closure. Temporary bus stops have been set up on this street to accommodate passengers. Once the main construction is complete, the contractor will restore the area, including repairing the road surface, sidewalks, and installing permanent bus stops.
The pipeline will supply natural gas to the under-construction Khabarovsk CHPP-4. Switching the boiler plant to natural gas aims to make energy production more environmentally friendly and efficient. The project will improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact in the region. The street closure and transport adjustments will remain in place until the pipeline construction is finished and the area is fully restored.
