Khabarovsk's river passenger services relaunch with new village routes
River passenger services in Khabarovsk have officially resumed for the season. The first routes opened on May 1, with full operations set to begin on May 15. A key connection will link Komsomolsk-on-Amur to several nearby villages via the Om-8 vessel. The Om-8 will serve three villages: Belgo, Verkhnetambovskoye, and Nizhnie Khalby. Departures from Komsomolsk-on-Amur are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 AM, returning at 7:00 PM. Fridays will follow a different timetable, with the vessel leaving at 6:30 AM, arriving in Nizhnie Khalby by 10:40 AM, and docking back in Komsomolsk-on-Amur at 6:00 PM.
By 2026, the region plans to expand its river transport network significantly. Carriers will operate a total of 14 passenger routes, improving connections across the area. The new service aims to provide reliable transport between Komsomolsk-on-Amur and remote villages. With the Om-8 now in operation, residents will have regular access to river travel. Further route expansions are expected in the coming years.
