Khabarovsk's vital bridge to undergo 109-million-ruble repairs in March

Repairs to Begin on Key Bridge Over Lake Mylka in Khabarovsk Krai

In March, renovation work will commence on the bridge crossing Lake Mylka along the Khabarovsk–Lidoga–Vanino highway (with access to Komsomolsk-on-Amur) at the 391st kilometer. According to the Khabarovsk Krai Today news agency, the project is part of the national Infrastructure for Life initiative launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The repairs will cover a 173-meter section of the bridge, with total funding exceeding 109 million rubles. Of this amount, 106.5 million rubles will come from the federal budget, while the remaining 3.3 million rubles will be provided by regional authorities.

The bridge is a critical link in the region's transport network, connecting the southern and northern parts of Khabarovsk Krai. It ensures access between Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the Vanino-Sovgavan transport hub, serving as a vital route to the region's industrial center.

For local residents, the bridge is equally important, as it links the city center with dacha settlements along the western shore of Lake Mylka, the Orlovskoye Highway, and nearby residential areas.

During the repairs, crews will resurface the roadway and approaches, replace structural components, and install a new expansion joint with metal edging and rubber compensators. A high-quality asphalt leveling layer will also be laid. The approaches will be upgraded, with new lightweight road signs installed and reflective markers added to improve nighttime visibility.

Once completed, the repairs will significantly enhance the bridge's performance, extend its safe operational life, and ensure comfortable travel conditions for all road users.

Timely completion of the project will make a substantial contribution to the development of Khabarovsk Krai's transport infrastructure.
