Bus route scheme in Komsomolsk-on-Amur to change in 2026

Komsomolsk-on-Amur overhauls public transport with a new five-year plan

The city administration of Komsomolsk-on-Amur is preparing a new Municipal Passenger Transport Development Plan (DPRP). This key document will shape public transport services for the next five years. Officials must finalise it by June 2026 to keep the system running smoothly. The previous DPRP was adopted in 2021 and led to major changes. In October that year, the city cut urban bus routes from 38 to 24. Some older lines, dating back to the late 20th century, were scrapped as outdated, while others saw revised numbering and adjusted schedules.

The new plan will give authorities the power to add routes, modify existing ones, or remove inefficient services. It will also serve as the legal foundation for competitive tenders when selecting transport operators. Before final approval, a public discussion will allow residents to share their views on the draft. Once adopted, the document remains valid until 2031, ensuring long-term stability for the city’s transport network.

The updated DPRP will guide how Komsomolsk-on-Amur manages its buses and routes over the next half-decade. Residents will soon have the chance to review and comment on the proposals. The final version must be in place by mid-2026 to avoid disruptions to services.
