Krasnodar extends bus lanes on Severnaya Street to ease traffic congestion
Krasnodar is expanding its dedicated bus lanes along Severnaya Street by 1.35 kilometres in both directions. The extension will run from Lomonosov Street to Peredovaya Street. Road markings are now being updated to reflect the new traffic priority scheme. The first bus lanes on Severnaya Street were introduced in 2023. They initially covered the stretch from Sedin Street to Levanesky Street. In 2024, the lanes were extended to Sadovaya Street, and by 2025, they reached Lomonosov Street.
The city already has operational bus lanes on several other streets. These include Mira Street, Sedin Street, Oktyabrskaya Street, Stavropolskaya Street, Tramvainaya Street, 1-go Maya Street, Machugi Street, Turgenev Street, Tyulayev Street, Chekistov Prospect, and 40 Let Pobedy Street. The expanded lanes on Severnaya Street will take effect in the coming days. The new bus lanes will improve public transport efficiency in Krasnodar. They will provide dedicated routes for buses, reducing travel times. The updated road markings will guide drivers through the changes.
