Final Phase Underway for Hüxtertorallee and Krähenstraße Bus Stop Upgrades
The transformation of the Hüxtertorallee and Krähenstraße bus stops is entering its final stage: from Wednesday, March 25, 2026, both stops will begin operating with expanded capacity. According to the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, each will then accommodate two articulated buses simultaneously, improving passenger flow during boarding and alighting.
Until that date, road marking and paving work will continue. The stops will also be equipped with notice boards, directional signs, and informational displays. Both locations will feature platforms on either side of the street, allowing buses traveling in both directions to serve passengers. Depending on construction progress, some routes may begin stopping at the new platforms a few days earlier than the official full launch.
At Hüxtertorallee, lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, and 26 will operate in both directions. The same lines will serve Krähenstraße on both sides, with additional routes—3, 10, 11, 12, 21, 30, 31, 34, 40, and 50—stopping there when traveling toward the central bus station (ZOB) and main train station. This will create another key transfer hub near the Old Town.
As already implemented at Kohlmarkt and Wahmstraße, buses will make just one stop per platform for both boarding and alighting. Passengers are advised to ensure their bus can pull up fully, including the rear section of the stop. Those unsure of where to wait can refer to the on-site notice boards and signs for guidance.
The new stops at Hüxtertorallee and Krähenstraße are designed to improve access to Lübeck's southern Old Town while enhancing transfer options—such as connections from Falkenstraße toward the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) and the university. According to officials, the measures aim to future-proof mobility in the city and minimize disruptions for all road users.
