Bus traffic in Magdeburg restricted due to technical problems - Magdeburg’s buses plagued by delays as faulty engine lines fail

Magdeburg’s bus services are facing ongoing cancellations and delays. The problems stem from technical faults linked to worn-out lines in the fleet. Passengers have noticed more disruptions since the beginning of the year.

Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe (MVB) has confirmed that faulty lines are causing the ongoing issues. These components, which regulate engine temperature, have deteriorated over time. As a result, buses are breaking down more frequently, especially during morning rush hours.

Repairs are now underway, with lines being replaced in stages across the affected vehicles. However, MVB has not yet provided a clear timeline for when all fixes will be completed. The company has also not named the employee who first raised concerns about the technical faults.

The disruptions continue to impact daily travel for many in Magdeburg. Until all lines are replaced, passengers may still face unexpected cancellations and delays. MVB has not indicated when normal service levels will fully resume.
