Light Rail Service Fully Resumed After Station Cleaning; Protesters Caused Disruptions

Mexico City light rail resumes after protest disruptions on Calzada de Tlalpan

Mexico City’s Electric Transport System (STE) has restarted light rail services after disruptions caused by protests. The demonstrations took place along Calzada de Tlalpan, affecting the line between Tasqueña and Xochimilco. Search collectives marched to Mexico City Stadium to present demands to authorities. The protest aimed to support missing persons and their families. As a result, debris was left on the tracks and at stations, halting services.

STE personnel worked to clear the tracks and clean the affected areas. Once the work was completed, light rail service resumed in both directions between Tasqueña and Xochimilco. The light rail is now running normally again. Passengers can travel without interruption on the restored route. The clean-up ensured safety and allowed operations to return to schedule.
