Minsk launches Bus No. 29D to ease weekday morning commutes
Minsk has introduced a new bus service to improve weekday commutes. Bus No. 29D began operating on 1 February 2024, covering the route between Karastayanava and Lutsynskaya. The line aims to fill gaps left by existing transport options in the area.
The new route runs only during morning peak hours from Monday to Friday. It complements the existing Bus No. 29, which follows a similar path but does not fully serve the Kamennaya Horka district. Unlike its counterpart, Bus No. 29D operates for a limited time each day.
Bus No. 29D connects several neighbourhoods more efficiently with the city centre. Passengers in Kurasichy, Droujba, Schanzy, and Kamarouka now have a direct link during busy mornings. The service was launched to ease congestion and improve access for daily commuters.
The addition of Bus No. 29D expands public transport coverage in key residential areas. It runs alongside the all-day Bus No. 29 but focuses on peak-hour demand. The route officially entered service at the start of February.
