Moonrise Unifies Nordic Instant Payments with Single API Expansion

Moonrise by Lunar has launched instant payments in Norway. The move makes it the only provider offering a single, unified API for real-time transactions across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. This simplifies a process that was previously complex for fintechs and payment firms.

Norway's real-time payment system, NICS Real, has traditionally been difficult to access through a single integration. Moonrise now enables partners to send and receive Norwegian Krone (NOK) instantly via this network. Its local virtual accounts (vBBANs) also allow businesses to offer a fully domestic payment experience.

The platform is built for electronic money institutions (EMIs), payment service providers (PSPs), and banks expanding in the Nordics. It promises faster onboarding, fewer dependencies, and scalable infrastructure for real-time transactions. By February 2026, Moonrise will extend its API-based solution to five additional countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and the UK.

This launch strengthens Moonrise's role as a key banking partner for companies scaling payments across the region. Its unified API now covers all three major Nordic instant payment rails, removing previous barriers for cross-border transactions.

The expansion allows fintechs and payment providers to process instant payments in Norway with minimal technical hurdles. Moonrise's solution reduces complexity while supporting growth across multiple markets. The company now serves as a central hub for real-time payments in the Nordics and beyond.
