Moscow-Vorkuta direct flights resume after years of delays in 2026
Direct flights between Moscow and Vorkuta will restart on April 24, 2026, after years without service. The route, operated by RusLine, follows months of discussions and a recent funding agreement. Tickets are now on sale through the airline's website. The return of this route was first proposed by State Council deputies Ruslan Magomedov and Dmitry Svistukhin. They met with Nikolai Sokolov, the transport minister of Komi, to push for the connection. However, progress stalled until Dmitry Bratyunenko, chairman of the Komi government, visited the region to resolve funding issues.
RusLine had been waiting for 23 million rubles in regional subsidies before confirming the flights. The airline will now operate weekly services, with departures from Vorkuta every Friday at 4:00 PM. The journey to Moscow's Zhukovsky Airport takes over three hours. Return flights leave Moscow at 12:10 PM on the same day.
Passengers can choose between two fare options. A basic ticket, including hand luggage up to 10 kg, costs 10,000 rubles. For those with checked baggage, the price rises to 11,000 rubles.
Igor Guryev, head of Vorkuta's city administration, officially confirmed the route's resumption. Before this announcement, no direct flights had connected the two cities in recent years. The restored service will provide a direct link between the capital and the remote Arctic city. Flights begin in April 2026, with tickets already available for booking. The subsidy agreement ensures the route's operation for the foreseeable future.
