MSI has unveiled its latest handheld gaming device, the Claw 8 EX AI+. Powered by Intel’s new G3 Extreme processor, the system promises high performance in a portable form. Priced at around $1,500 at launch, it also introduces advanced features like improved haptic feedback and extended battery life. The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ runs on Intel’s top-tier G3 Extreme chip, featuring a 14-core CPU and a 12 Xe core Arc B390 integrated GPU. This setup allows it to handle games smoothly at its native 1200p resolution, boosted by XeSS frame generation for higher frame rates.
Memory and storage come in the form of 32 GB of fast LPDDR5x-8533 RAM and a 1 TB SSD, which can be expanded with single-sided SSDs. The device stays remarkably quiet during use, even under heavy loads. For connectivity, it includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a MicroSD card reader, a fingerprint-enabled power button, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The new 'HD haptic' linear resonant actuator (LRA) modules enhance vibration feedback, while the overall build quality ensures a comfortable grip. Battery life has also been a key focus, with MSI claiming exceptional endurance for extended gaming sessions.
The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ arrives as a premium handheld option, blending raw power with refined design. Its combination of high-end hardware, quiet operation, and long battery life positions it as a strong contender in the portable gaming market. The device is set to launch at a starting price of $1,500.
