New ferry service connects remote Russian communities along Ilych and Pechora rivers

A new cargo-passenger ferry service has launched in the Troitsko-Pechorsky Municipal District. Operated by the Regional Transport Company, the route officially began on 19 May 2026 using the Rasyu vessel. The ferry follows a fixed timetable, with schedules available in the official route details. Passengers and cargo can now travel along the Ilych River, connecting Ust-Ilych to Palyu. From there, the service continues onto the Pechora River.

The Regional Transport Company has co-funded the initiative to improve local transport links. The *Rasyu* vessel was chosen to handle both passenger and freight needs along these key waterways.

The launch of the ferry service provides a reliable transport option for residents and businesses in the region. With scheduled departures and a clear route, the Rasyu vessel is set to play a key role in connecting communities along the Ilych and Pechora rivers.
