New Fire Truck Revolutionizes Wildfire Response in Post-Soviet Regions

A new fire truck has been developed to tackle wildfires across the post-Soviet region. It follows a major blaze in Abai Region in 2023 and is seen as a significant advancement in firefighting technology. The vehicle was created in response to the devastating wildfire in Abai Region last year. It features a 300-horsepower engine and high off-road capability to reach remote areas.

The truck carries a 3,000-litre water tank and a powerful pump for firefighting while stationary or moving. The pump can be controlled from either the driver’s cabin or the fire compartment. Additional safety features include a rearview camera and an automatic fire suppression system.

Testing took place in Akmola, Karaganda, Pavlodar, and Abai regions. The prototype has been praised for its effectiveness in wildfire suppression. The new fire truck is now ready for deployment. Its design and features aim to improve response times and efficiency in combating forest fires. Regions prone to wildfires are expected to benefit from its introduction.
