New Moskva catamaran launches faster Vladivostok-island passenger routes
A new high-speed catamaran, the Moskva, has launched passenger services between Vladivostok, Popov Island, and Reineke Island. The vessel, capable of carrying 200 passengers, will cut travel time significantly compared to traditional ferries. Operations began earlier than planned due to favourable weather conditions. The Moskva catamaran has completed all necessary inspections and is now fully operational. Its schedule includes multiple daily departures from Vladivostok to Popov Island, running on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 5:00 PM. On Wednesdays, trips leave at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, while Fridays see departures at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Sunday services operate at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Return trips from Popov Island to Vladivostok run daily at 8:00 AM, with extra departures on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 2:50 PM. For Reineke Island, the catamaran departs Vladivostok on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:00 PM. The return journey from Reineke Island to Vladivostok follows the same days at 3:30 PM. Despite the new service, municipal barges will continue running to Popov Island twice daily, at 9:15 AM and 3:00 PM.
The Moskva catamaran offers faster crossings and more frequent connections between Vladivostok and the islands. Passengers now have additional travel options, while existing barge services remain unchanged. The earlier-than-expected launch provides immediate benefits for commuters and visitors.
