New suburban rail service links Pechora and Kozhva 1 in Komi region
A new suburban rail service will connect Pechora and Kozhva 1 stations in the Komi region. The Ministry of Transport has introduced the route after local residents requested better off-season transport options. Two daily trains will operate during specific periods in 2026.
The decision follows public appeals for improved travel links between the two locations. The Ministry of Transport of Komi confirmed the launch of the service to address these concerns.
Train No. 6825 will leave Pechora at 06:12 and reach Kozhva 1 at 06:40 from Monday to Friday. This service will not run on May 1 and May 11, 2026. The return service, Train No. 6826, departs Kozhva 1 at 07:35 and arrives in Pechora at 08:00 on the same days. It will also skip May 1 and May 11. The trains will run during two periods in 2026: from April 15 to June 1, and from November 16 to December 30. No additional details about other regional rail changes in recent years have been confirmed.
The new service aims to provide reliable transport for commuters and travellers during off-peak seasons. It will operate on weekdays, excluding two public holidays in May. The schedule is designed to meet local demand for better connectivity between Pechora and Kozhva 1.
