NFR overhauls 80+ train schedules across Assam and Northeast India

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has updated the schedules for over 80 train services across Assam and neighbouring states. The changes, effective from 30th April 2026, aim to boost punctuality and streamline operations for both short and long-distance routes. Passengers are being urged to check the new timings before travelling. The revised schedules cover a range of services, including Mail/Express, Passenger, DMU, and long-distance trains. Key routes such as the Naharlagun-Guwahati Shatabdi Express, Anand Vihar-Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express, and Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express now operate under adjusted timings. Other affected trains include the Silchar-New Tinsukia Express, Guwahati-Dibrugarh Express, and Guwahati-NJP Intercity Express.

Major stations like Guwahati, Kamakhya, Lumding, and New Haflong have seen changes to departure and arrival times. Similar updates apply at Badarpur, Dibrugarh, New Tinsukia, Rangiya, Silchar, and Agartala. The adjustments also extend to Passenger and DMU services in Assam and Tripura, ensuring smoother connections and fewer delays.

NFR officials state that the revisions will enhance sectional running times and reduce operational bottlenecks. By improving coordination at key junctions, the new schedules are expected to make journeys more reliable for passengers across the region. The updated train timings are designed to create a more efficient network across Northeast Frontier Railway. Passengers can expect fewer delays and better connectivity at major hubs. NFR has advised all travellers to confirm their train’s revised schedule before setting out.
