Nikolaevsk-on-Amur launches major heating network upgrades amid summer disruptions

Nikolaevsk-on-Amur is set to begin a large-scale modernisation of its heating networks. The upgrades will include pipeline replacements and insulation repairs across the city. Officials warn that hot water supplies may face temporary disruptions during the summer months. The project will focus on renewing 12 sections of the heating network, covering over three kilometres of pipelines. Work will start immediately after the heating season ends and must finish by September 30. Due to the city’s northern climate, the repairs will take four months to complete.

Vyacheslav Skorodelov, chief engineer at the Nikolaevsk CHPP branch, is overseeing the upgrades. His team will also replace thermal insulation on nine segments of the system. This part of the work is split into two phases: January to May and October to December. Residents should prepare for hot water shutoffs as the repairs progress. Traffic along Kantera Street will also face restrictions while the work is underway. The entire modernisation effort is expected to cost 175 million rubles.

The upgrades aim to improve the reliability of Nikolaevsk’s heating infrastructure. Once completed, the renewed pipelines and insulation should reduce future disruptions. The project remains on schedule despite the tight timeline imposed by the region’s harsh climate.
