Nizhny Novgorod rolls out new bike lanes across three districts

Nizhny Novgorod is expanding its cycling network with new bike lanes across three districts. The city has commissioned designs for fresh routes, extending existing paths and improving public spaces for cyclists. A 1.5-kilometre bike lane will stretch along Oktyabrsky Prospect, connecting to the current route. This extension aims to provide a smoother journey for riders in the area.

In the Avtozavodsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Civil Engineering Design is preparing plans for a new path along Molodyozhny Prospect. The project includes detailed cost estimates and technical drawings before construction begins.

The Sormovsky and Leninsky districts will also see dedicated cycling infrastructure. Both areas are part of wider public space upgrades, though exact timelines for completion remain unconfirmed. The new lanes will add to the city's growing network of cycling routes. Once finished, they are set to offer safer and more accessible travel for residents. Official updates on construction progress are expected in due course.
