Nizhny Novgorod speeds up road repairs under Putin's infrastructure push

Repair work is underway on the Bora road in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Two new sections are being fixed this year: the approach to Oktyabrsky village and the stretch from Bor to Razvilie, Filippovskoe, and Utkino. The project falls under the 'Infrastructure for Life' initiative launched by President Vladimir Putin. Crews have already addressed rutting on the first part of the approach to the Boris bridge. New asphalt has been laid across four lanes from kilometre 6 to 8 on the approach roads. The repair method used not only removes rutting but also increases the road’s lifespan.

Work on the Boris bridge itself and the approaches from Akimov street will begin after 12 June. The current repairs are scheduled for completion by the end of June, with freezing carried out at night and laying during the day.

So far in 2025, 761 kilometres of roads have been completed, exceeding the original plan of 626 kilometres. Over 6,600 kilometres of roads in the region have been repaired under this project to date. The ongoing work aims to improve road quality and durability. The repairs will enhance travel conditions for local residents and commuters. All scheduled sections are expected to be finished by the end of June.
