Noida Metro's 11.56 km expansion to link Sector 142 with Botanical Garden by 2027

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced plans to extend the metro network with an 11.56 km corridor from Sector 142 to Botanical Garden. Construction is set to begin in early 2025, with the project expected to ease travel between Noida and Greater Noida. The ₹2,580 crore initiative, funded by the Uttar Pradesh government, aims to modernise transport and boost regional development.

The Union Cabinet gave its approval for the extension, which will add eight new elevated stations along the route. Tenders for the project were issued in late 2024, with civil works scheduled for completion by mid-2027. The full corridor is expected to be operational by December 2027.

Once finished, the metro network in Noida and Greater Noida will stretch to 61.62 km. The expansion will improve access to key locations such as Amity University, Panchsheel Balak Inter College, Mahamaya Balika Inter College, and Max Super Speciality Hospital. It will also provide direct links to major commercial and industrial hubs, including Advant Business Park, Skymark One Mall, Mall of Noida, and offices of Microsoft, TCS, Havells, Infosys, Cognizant, and Oracle.

The project is part of the Yogi government's broader strategy to develop Uttar Pradesh sustainably. By reducing road traffic, it is expected to enhance road safety and lower carbon emissions. Additionally, the new metro route is likely to attract fresh investments and strengthen business activity around the stations.

The Sector 142 to Botanical Garden extension will create a faster, more connected metro system for residents and businesses. With completion targeted for December 2027, the project is set to transform travel, commerce, and daily life across Noida and Greater Noida.
