Nova Rock: Weather Forecast for the Festival Weekend

Nova Rock 2024 kicks off with 200,000 fans and epic headliners

Nova Rock, Austria’s largest rock festival, begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday. Over 200,000 music fans are set to attend the four-day event. Heavy traffic is expected, particularly on the A4 Ostautobahn (Eastern Motorway). The festival will feature more than 80 bands, with headliners including Volbeat, Iron Maiden, The Cure, and Bring Me The Horizon. Local acts such as Shmiffy, Lemo, Pure Chlorine, Cousins, and Purple will also perform.

Attendees can use a 'Kiss and Ride' drop-off zone at Nickelsdorf’s sports field. Cashless payments are the standard, with refundable chips embedded in wristbands. Waste disposal is covered by the ticket price, and a €5 voucher is available for returning a full bag of trash.

To reduce litter, the festival offers redemption points for single-use plastic and metal drink containers that carry a deposit. ÖAMTC breakdown assistants will patrol access routes to help prevent delays from vehicle issues. The event promises a mix of international and local talent. Organisers have put measures in place to manage traffic, waste, and payments efficiently. More than 200,000 visitors are expected to enjoy the music and services over the four days.
