Novorossiysk overhauls traffic rules at chaotic Chapayev-Zakharov intersection

The city administration of Novorossiysk has updated traffic rules at a busy intersection. Changes at the junction of Chapayev, Zakharov, and Azhur streets took effect in October 2024. Officials stated the adjustments aim to improve safety and ease congestion.

Drivers approaching from Chapayev Street now have two designated lanes. One lane allows only right turns, while the other permits left turns or U-turns. Straight talk is no longer allowed from this direction.

Those coming from Zakharov Street via Bronyavy Lane face a single lane. This lane is restricted to straight or right turns only. For drivers entering from Zakharov Street on the Azhur Street side, three lanes are available. The first lane is for right turns, the second for straight travel, and the third for left turns or U-turns.

The new rules reorganise traffic flow at a key Novorossiysk junction. Drivers must now follow lane-specific directions to reduce delays and collisions. The city administration confirmed these measures in official statements released in October 2024.
