Nuevo León's Water Park debuts as a sustainability and recreation landmark
Nuevo León has unveiled the first phase of its ambitious Water Park, a project designed to blend recreation with sustainability. Governor Samuel García and Mariana Rodríguez officially opened the site, which cost 2.92 billion pesos to develop. The park aims to set new standards in water conservation while offering family-friendly spaces for the community. The Water Park was built around three key goals: capturing rainwater, supporting sustainability, and protecting local wildlife. Its systems collect, recycle, and distribute rainwater to nearby areas, making it a model for responsible water use worldwide.
The first stage includes an amphitheatre for inclusive family activities. A pedestrian bridge links the park to Estadio Monterrey and the DIF Capullos community centre, ensuring easy access for visitors. The design also emphasises green spaces, reinforcing its eco-friendly focus. On Wednesday, the Nuevo León Pavilion will open its doors to international tourists arriving for the World Cup. The pavilion adds to the park’s appeal as both a recreational hub and a showcase for sustainable innovation.
The Water Park represents a major investment in the region’s future, combining leisure with environmental stewardship. Its water recycling systems and green infrastructure will benefit neighbouring communities while serving as a blueprint for similar projects. The site is now ready to welcome visitors during the World Cup and beyond.
