Passengers traveling with Agilis, part of the Eisenbahn Verkehrs Nachrichten (EVN) network, will now reach their destinations more quickly on replacement bus services between Nuremberg and Regensburg. According to a recent announcement, the travel time on the RE 50 express bus route has been reduced by approximately 15 minutes, bringing the journey down to around 90 minutes. The improvement follows insights gained during the first months of the line closure, part of the ongoing corridor renovation. The bus connections have proven faster than initially estimated.

Official figures indicate that about 96 percent of buses operate on time, with a cancellation rate of roughly 0.5 percent. The schedule adjustments were coordinated with the Bavarian Railway Company (Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft, BEG) and DB InfraGO. The goal is to provide the most reliable and attractive alternative transport possible during construction. Similar solutions are also being considered for other routes in the future.

Since early February, buses have replaced trains on the Nuremberg–Regensburg route. The extensive overhaul of the approximately 88-kilometer stretch is expected to be completed by July 10.
