Nuremberg's Historic Tram Depot Opens for Rare Public Tours This Weekend

The Historic Tram Depot St. Peter in Nuremberg will open its doors to the public this weekend. Visitors can look forward to exploring vintage trams, buses, and exhibits celebrating the region’s public transport history. The depot will be accessible on Saturday and Sunday. Inside, guests will find over 23 historic railcars and a detailed model tram layout. The heritage Burgring Line 15 will run between the main station and the depot during opening hours, offering a glimpse into the past.

On Sunday, guided tours aboard a vintage bus will trace the route of the former Line 2. These nearly two-hour excursions will depart from the depot and require a ticket. The museum is managed by the Friends of the Nuremberg-Fürth Tramway association in collaboration with VAG Nuremberg. The event provides a chance to experience historic vehicles and learn about local transport heritage. Tickets for the excursions will be available, ensuring an engaging day out for all attendees.
