Omsk Airport Extends Security Contract Without Competitive Bidding

Omsk Airport has extended its security services contract with the Transport Security Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Transport. The agreement, awarded without competitive bidding, will remain in place until March next year. Funding for the extended period has been set at 50.5 million rubles in total.

The new contract outlines a payment schedule for security services. From April to June, monthly costs will stand at 1.8 million rubles. Starting in July, payments will rise to 5 million rubles each month.

The Transport Security Directorate oversees protection for key transport sites, including airports. Its role involves preventing unauthorised access and mitigating potential threats to infrastructure. However, no details have been released about any changes to perimeter security at Fyodorovka Airport in Omsk following the contract renewal. The extension was secured through a sole-source procurement process. This means no other companies were invited to bid for the work.

The contract ensures continued security coverage at Omsk Airport for nearly another year. Total funding of 50.5 million rubles will support operations until March 2026. No updates have been provided regarding adjustments to security measures at nearby Fyodorovka Airport.
